Use these kindness prompts for kids to get a start on the story you want to tell in your stop motion video.
Stop motion is a lot of fun to make, but sometimes it’s hard to come up with a story! Today we are sharing a few prompts to get you started with our “Be Kind Online” theme. Feel free to use any of these as a starting point for your video, or take it in your own direction.
Kindness Prompts for Kids for the Kid Vid Fest “Be Kind Online” Theme
We came up with a very simple list of kindness themed storytelling ideas. In your stop motion video, you could show people/animals/creatures/even office supplies:
- Doing something kind for the earth
- Helping a friend
- Helping an animal
- Helping a stranger
- Playing with a friend
- Helping a parent
- Playing with an animal
- Helping a teacher
- The power of a smile
- Cheering up a friend
- Helping a neighbor
It’s important not to overthink this! Your story should be about kindness, but it doesn’t have to be realistic. For example, this YouTube clip works for the “playing with an animal” theme, even though it’s not that likely that you would play with a polar bear this way in real life.
Remember, these are just suggestions! The sky’s the limit with where you can go with your stop motion story. Stories don’t need to be very long – we are accepting clips as short as 7 seconds long!
